Who We Are

The Gulf Shellfish Institute, Inc. is a Florida Not for Profit Corporation, with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. We were established in December 2015. Although based in Manatee County, our focus is regional. We are working with partners throughout Florida and the Gulf region to improve and increase the production of shellfish for both ecological and economic benefit.

We are led by an Executive Director and a six member Board of Directors, representing all facets of the industry.
